New Ways to Train in 2026!!!
Jump to Schedule Click Here!
As a trainer, I am always striving to find new ways to meet the needs of my clients and the community, starting spring of 2026 I began to launch a variety of new training services and educational options, in different outdoor and indoor locations in the Brunswick and surrounding area. My goals?
To offer an array of fun, flexible options for clients. Providing varied ways to access dog training and education in a way that works for the individual. With both a wide variety of training options, time slots, and topics that will help you and your dog suceed, no matter what your goal is!
Bridge the gap between “classroom skills” and REAL LIFE skills, and not just help to solve problems for my clients, but to PREVENT them in the first place by providing real life training classes, supervised experiences, life skills topics, and honing in on topics that are tough for us trainers to cover in a traditional class - such as how to handle dog to dog greetings or play, or calm, polite manners out in public.
“Problem PREVENTION, not just Problem Solving!”
I started slow, with a few fun “pop-ups” and some small classes taking place in the real world focusing on building skills in new environments and most importantly, getting out of the training room and into real life! The response from clients made it clear immediately that I was meeting a BIG need people had. Outside of the classroom training. Flexible timing. Less time commitment that works with their schedules. More choices of topics.
Training in YOUR community!
Now? I am continuing to launch new options every day including virtual options, seminars, workshops and more. In addition to public locations, we now have multiple additional private locations in Litchfield, Yarmouth and Portland for larger events, more controlled environments, and options for days with poor weather.
So, what’s available??

Pop-Ups are single, 1hr sessions with a focused topic held in a variety of different locations primarily in the Midcoast area but also the greater Portland area. They are a great FLEXIBLE way to get out and train and learn about specific topics that interest you without the commitment of a weekly class.
Pop-ups can take place in outdoor or indoor locations, some occur in public spaces such as parks, trails or dog friendly stores, and others take place at privately owned properties.
Some pop-ups are scheduled in advance but they are often spontaneous, “popping up” at any point during the week!
-
Looking for a little more consistency, but can’t commit to a class that drags on for weeks?
Mini-classes are 3-4 week classes that focus on a particular subject or skillset (such as Leave it, Loose Leash Walking, or Polite Greetings with People) and help you to progress your skill set with targeted exercises for your dog.
Like pop-ups, mini-classes can be indoors, outdoors, in real life environments or more traditional training places. Look below for upcoming mini-classes!

Seminars!
Call the NERD police, because seminars are for the training and behavior NERDS.
Human only events, seminars are 1-2 hour presentations delivered in a lecture/presentation style, with some fun hands on surprises mixed in at times.
With topics such as Understanding Canine Body Language 101 and 102, Dog Directed Reactivity, and Canine Sociability, Case Studies and Navigating Behavior Challenges these seminars will appeal to the dog loving nerd in all of you!
**Please note currently seminars are only available for live attendance. Options for virtual attendance will be available in the future.
Workshops!
Description Lots of fun and learning packed into single day! Workshops are typically 3-4 hours long, allowing for an intensive deep dive! With a mix of discussion, demonstration, and hands-on work with your own dog you will walk away from a workshop with a whole new skill set or interest!
All workshops will offer both “working spots” (owner and dog actively participating) and “audit spots” (owner attending without dog) and can be a great option for those with a reactive or distracting pup who still want to attend and learn, or those who would just prefer to learn by watching others. text goes here

Round Tables (Virtual)
Talk about nerding out. Round tables are human only, very casual events. We meet virtually for an hour, to discuss a specific topic.
The first half of the hour is lecture style, followed by 30 minutes of group discussion and Q&A. Round tables are great way to learn new things and connected with other dog nerds!

Social Skills 101: The “Slow Intro” (EXTENDED POP-UP) Thu 8/27 from 5:30-7pm (90min session) at Wilde Kind Farm in Litchfield.
We’ve all heard it “it just takes a slow introduction” or “he needs a slow intro” but do we really know what that means? Or how to do it? Maybe we have a basic idea, some parallel walking, maybe more than one meeting…but the details are a bit murky…how do we know if it is working? What do we do if it isn’t working? When is it time to go from “close” to “saying hi” and how do we do it?
This special extended 90minute pop-up gives us a nice chunk of time to dig into this invaluable topic! Practice with your own dog, as well as watching other teams. Group size is restricted in this pop-up to allow for plenty of time to focus on dog-to-dog work. (Audits available for 25% discount for those who want to attend without a dog.)

You think you know FOOD, but DO you? Friday August 21st at 6pm
Cost: $35 (live attendance) $15 (recording)
Food is a powerful reinforcer, but SO MANY of us don't use it to its full potential, or even fully understand all the nuanced ways food can be used to reward, shape and otherwise effect your dog's behavior and emotions. It seems to simple, what is complicated about giving a treat to a dog? We skip over it, pushing forward and ready to learn more - without digging in and really understanding one of the most important fundamental building blocks in our training tool box!
